Good Afternoon Stokesdale Parents,

This is Mrs. Bennett, Principal of Stokesdale Elementary. Hope all of you are having a wonderful weekend! Here are your weekly announcements for the week of February 16th. Tomorrow, February 16th is a Teacher Workday, so no school for students, and this Thursday, February 19th classes will participate in Class Group Pictures. Fifth Grade will be on a Field Trip this Thursday, so their Class Pictures will be in April.

Please remind your student to bring their One Card each day to school. If your child does not have his/her One Card, please send in $5.00 to replace their One Card.

Please join us for our "Stokesdale Elementary Spirit Night" with the Greensboro Swarm, NBA G-League Affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets! On March 13th, at 7PM the Greensboro Swarm will be playing against the Osceola Magic, NBA G league affiliate of the Orlando Magic. The Greensboro Swarm are offering a unique group ticket discount off the regular individual gate ticket price! As a student, employee, family, or friend, you can take advantage today by clicking the Buying Options button and securing your spot at the game! We have some exciting experiences planned for the night:

Anthem buddies: Enjoy standing with your favorite player during the national anthem!

High five tunnel pre-game: Come give your favorite Swarm player a high five when they run out for gametime!

Tickets are on sale for the Girls' Sweetheart Dance at Oak Ridge Methodist Church on Friday March 6th! Student tickets are $10 and include one free VIP adult attendee. Online payments are preferred. Visit https://tinyurl.com/2026-dance-tickets to reserve your spot. The deadline to purchase tickets is February 28th. Also, the PTO is in need of volunteers to help host this event. Join us for our next restaurant night at Joey’s Burger Bar this week on Thursday 2/19!

The final Skate Night for this school year is on Thursday February 26th at Skateland West from 6:30-8:30. Wear your Stokesdale red! If we have over 100 people attend, Skateland donates $2.50 PER PERSON back to our school so invite your friends, neighbors, and family members to skate!

Please remember parents will need to show your ID to our Front Office staff in order to check your student out, as well as sign them out on the sign out clipboard. No parent needs to come into the building or the Front Office to pick up your child. Front Office staff will assist you at the Main Office Front Door in order for you to pick up your child. Parents that are volunteering will need to bring your ID as well and you will be asked to come into the Front Office to sign in on the front office computer to receive a visitor or volunteer sticker. Our lunch menu for this week is on the Stokesdale Elementary Facebook Page and Class Dojo. We look forward to a "GREAT" week of school.
