Principal's Weekly Updates

Good Evening Stokesdale Parents,

This is Mrs. Bennett, Principal of Stokesdale Elementary. Here are your weekly reminders for the week of August 31st. Hope all of you have had a wonderful weekend! We had a "Fantastic" first week of school and thank you all for your patience as we work through our plan with the car rider line. Please remember students cannot be dropped off before 7:00. There will be no supervision until after 7:00. The school day starts at 7:00. Breakfast will be served from 7:00-7:25 and if students need breakfast they may go through the cafeteria line. Afternoon dismissal will be at 2:10 for K-2 and 2:15 for 3-5. All students should be picked up by 2:25 each day.

Please post your number car rider tag on the rearview car mirror when picking up your student each day. For everyone's safety I am asking please, please be patient as students, staff, and parents adjust to our new car rider line procedures. If you need a car rider number, please contact Ms. Donaldson.

If you have not signed up for Class Dojo to get all your student's class updates, I have an attached a Class Dojo QR code so you can join.

I am also attaching the 26-27 Stokesdale Family Handbook if you have not received your copy from your child's teacher.

If you plan on picking up your student from school early, please call before 1:30 so we can have your student ready for dismissal.

This Thursday September 3rd from 6-8pm is the PTO Meet and Greet at Oak Ridge Craft & Vine. Come out to learn more about PTO activities and meet the board members, plus Craft & Vine will have fun music trivia starting at 7pm!

Parents will need to show your ID to our Front Office staff in order to check your student out, as well as sign them out on the sign out clipboard. No parent needs to come into the building or the Front Office to pick up your child. Front Office staff will assist you at the Main Office Front Door in order for you to pick up your child. Parents that are volunteering will need to bring your ID as well and you will be asked to come into the Front Office to sign in on the front office computer to receive a visitor or volunteer sticker. Our lunch menu for this week is on Class Dojo and attached to this connect-ed. Please remember parents can start coming to eat lunch on September 8th.
